Besides music being enjoyable, the right music for work can help keep you focused and entertained. Here's some of the best music I've found for coding.

All my music for programming is in a Spotify playlist if you want to check it out. It includes many great songs I haven't listed in this post.

Albums

Youandewan - There Is No Right Time

Youandewan - There Is No Right Time

This is probably my favourite album for coding. I have a ton of plays on it and like every song. It has a good tempo, sounds great, and isn't distracting.

Mr. Robot Original Television Series Soundtrack

Mr. Robot Original Television Series Soundtrack

Besides this being my favourite TV show, the soundtrack has many tracks that are great for coding. It also makes you feel like a badass 😉

Make sure it's the original TV series soundtrack by Mac Quayle; it's the music made specifically for the show that's good for coding. The other soundtrack has unsuitable songs from other artists.

Kodomo - Still Life

Kodomo - Still Life

This is another great album with a similar vibe to the one by Youandewan. It has quite a few decent songs, my favourites are 'Concept 3' and 'Concept 10'.

NEO Scavenger OST

NEO Scavenger OST

Like Mr. Robot's OST, anything with a cyberpunk vibe is often great for coding. This OST by Josh Culler has a fair few decent songs in it. It's also a great game.

Artists

Ben Prunty

Ben Prunty

This guy has made several really good albums and soundtracks for video games that are perfect for coding. In particular:

  • Fragments
  • Ciper (The Score for Banking on Bitcoin)
  • Ftl: Faster Than Light - Original Soundtrack
  • Into the Breach Soundtrack

Teen Daze

Teen Daze

Jamison Isaak has made several great slow, low-tempo songs for coding. This is the kind of thing I listen to when I really need to focus. Here's a few album recommendations:

  • Themes for Dying Earth
  • Themes for a New Earth
  • Rainwater Coffee - EP

More to come

There's undoubtedly plenty of music I haven't heard or included here. Once I finally finish Vibite, though, myself and other music enthusiasts will be recommending tons more 😁
